Baseball

The Tupelo Department of Parks and Recreation offers several levels of baseball for our citizens.

Recreational Baseball is designed to offer all players a chance to experience the game at the grassroots level. Games are played during the week, and it is open to all players, ages 4-18. The recreational baseball program’s goal is to teach the basic fundamentals and sportsmanship. The baseball complex at Ballard Park has nine lighted baseball fields with restrooms, concessions and a one-mile track surrounding the park. If games are questionable because of weather, call rec-check at 662-842-8422 and enter 95 after the tone.

Tupelo Ranger Baseball is the highest level of baseball offered by Tupelo Department of Parks and Recreation. Age divisions range from 7U-14U, and are sanctioned through USSSA Baseball. Coaches are voted on by the Tupelo Youth Baseball Association Board, and players are chosen each year through a tryout assessed by two evaluators and one head coach. The coach and independent evaluators rate each participant on fielding, mobility, arm strength, accuracy, speed, bat control, ball control, and power.
