For the past 14 years, the Downtown Tupelo Main Street Association (DTMSA) has held the annual Chili Festival located on Broadway Street. This event has become very popular over the years and the competition continues to grow. The 15th Annual Chili Fest will be held on Friday, October 10, 2014. Teams are encouraged to register within the next few weeks to reserve their space and compete for the ultimate first place title, “Make You Wanna Slap Your Mama Good!”
Teams of four members compete against other teams in a number of prize categories. Not only are the teams judged on their chili, they are also judged on presentation, team spirit, costumes, most creative tent and the most original theme. Teams can be made up of friends, co-workers, relatives, clubs or anyone who likes to have a good time and has a great chili recipe. The entry fee is $40 if you register by Friday, September 19th. Team registrations will be accepted, as space is available for $50 until October 1st.
