The Tupelo Police Athletic League is now taking enrollment into our Summer Program. We will run week long camps in different activities. Each participant can sign up to participate in two camps. As always, there is no fee to participate and lunch is provided. Parents are responsible for timely drop off and pick up at the TPAL Facility located at 419 Robert E. Lee Drive. Enrollment is as easy as completing a “Summer Application” which can be picked up from the TPAL Facility and handing it in to Sgt. Michael Russell or Sgt. Katarsha White. Camps are filled on first come, first serve basis. Each participant can enroll in up to two (2) camps. Parents / Guardians are responsible for transportation to and from PAL. All other transportation and lunch will be provided. As always, there is NO CHARGE to participate.

All classes are encouraged for each session (4 classes) during the month and the cost is $20 (This is the cost of the workbook.). All will be held at the Tupelo Police Athletic League 419 Robert E. Lee Drive.
The Tupelo Police Department’s Junior Police Academy is a 3 week, in house program designed for youths age 14-17, interested in exploring careers in law enforcement or other related public service fields. Cadets are selected through an application process, including a thorough background review and board interview. The Academy is held at the North Mississippi Law Enforcement Training Center located in Tupelo, MS. Cadets will experience a simulation of an actual law enforcement academy with an emphasis on team building skills. Participants will be housed in the NMLETC barracks during the week and will return home during the weekend. The 2011 Junior Police Academy will begin on June 5 and graduate June 24, 2011.

If interested in riding with an officer please contact us at (662)841-6402. You must be atleast 21 years old to participate.
Due to being awarded this grant, extra officers with the Tupelo Police Department will be out in force between now and September during peak times that drivers habitually drive drunk and at various locations throughout the city in an effort to make the streets of Tupelo safer.
