This is a service offered by the City of Tupelo, Public Works Department, to assist residents/households in disposing of bulky waste items and general refuse. Please call: (662) 841-6457, to schedule your Dial-A-Truck on the next available date.
Dial-A-Trucks will be delivered on Friday mornings and picked up on the following Monday. Holidays may alter this schedule. Please note that once you make an appointment, it is not necessary that you call back to confirm. In the event that you need to cancel an appointment, please allow at least a 24 hour notice.
The Public Works Department will contact you as soon as possible to reschedule a pick up date if they are unable to keep the scheduled collection date. Items that may be disposed of include: appliances, building materials (from house renovations only) clothes, carpets (rugs), furniture, lumber (6ft. length max), mattresses, scrap metal. Bricks, concrete and rocks must be kept separate from the other materials.
Items that may NOT be disposed of include: asbestos, large glass items, bagged materials (leaves, household trash, etc.), dead animals, hazardous materials such as paint, household cleaners, chemicals and oil.
The City of Tupelo reserves the right to refuse any items or loads that are toxic, flammable, explosive or unsafe for travel.
The City of Tupelo is not responsible for any damage to drives, lawns and/or shrubbery caused by the use of a Dial-A-Truck.
Only City of Tupelo Employees shall operate a Dial-A-Truck.
Things to Remember:
The improper disposal of hazardous material is unlawful and subject to be fined.
Doors should be removed from refrigerators and freezer before their disposal.
The Dial-A-Truck Program operates at no additional cost to Tupelo Residents. Due to its popularity, it may take up to 30 days to schedule an appointment. Please be patient as we strive to serve each citizen!
