Recreational Soccer

2016/2017 Recreational Soccer

  • Registration period: May 30- June 17, 2016
  • Ages: 4-18 (Age as of July 31, 2016)
  • Estimated Start Date: September 6, 2016
  • Days of the Week: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday
  • Cost: $50 city residents, $60 Tupelo School District, $75 Lee County residents

Division II Soccer

Division II is the TYSA intermediate playing division for boys and girls under-10 through under-16 age divisions. It's a combination development and all-star division designed to result in a more competitive level of play. Teams are formed in accordance to the TYSA bylaws and approval by the TYSA Board.

Select Soccer

Tupelo Futbol Club's purpose is to provide their players with the best available training and coaching to help them improve their team and individual skills. TFC will also seek to provide every player with the opportunities both on and off the field that will help them advance to the highest level. TFC also hopes to create a program that all players, parents and spectators will be proud of and that they will represent the community with pride.

We would like to invite you to Tupelo Futbol Club's 2016-2017 select soccer tryouts:

  • Tuesday, May 24
    • U9|U11|U13|U15 Boys and Girls, 6 - 7:30 p.m.
    • U10|U12|U14|U16-U19 Boys and Girls, 7:30 - 9 p.m.
  • Thursday, May 16
    • U10|U12|U14|U16-U19 Boys and Girls, 6 - 7:30 p.m.
    • U9|U11|U13|U15 Boys and Girls, 7:30 - 9 p.m.
  • Tryouts will be held at the Ballard Park Sportsplex.
  • Players must try out for their true age group, but are welcome to try out for an older age group as well.
  • Wednesday, June 1, will serve as a rain make-up date, if needed.
  • If tryouts are questionable due to weather, please call rec check at 662-842-8422. Press 95 after the tone.
  • Age groups are U9-U19 Boys and Girls (Players born between 2008 and 1998 are eligible to try out).
  • Cost for tryout: $10 per player (cash or checks made out to TYSA).
  • Check-in will be at the concession stand 30 minutes before you try out.
  • Be sure to bring your cleats, shin guards, and a soccer ball.
  • Be sure to ask about the TFC United Elite soccer Camp being held on July 18-21!

Soccer Camps

Tupelo Youth Soccer Association will be hosting 2 sessions of our TYSA Soccer Camp this summer. This camp is designed to provide the highest quality soccer experience in a safe environment that is both developmental and enjoyable. Our unique program will challenge players of all levels and abilities.

Camp Director: Christian Dane Tupelo Youth Soccer Association/Tupelo Futbol Club Director of Coaching brings almost a decade of coaching experience at many different levels and ages and holds a USSF National “B” License.

  • Camp Dates:
    • Session 1- June 13-17
    • Session 2- July 11-15
  • Cost:
    • 4 and 5 year olds- $65/session (9AM- 10:30AM)
    • 6 and older- $125/session (9AM-Noon)

    Each participant receives a camp shirt and a soccer ball. Players can register at the Parks and Recreation office or online. Online links will be available soon.

Our Courses:

  • Grade 9 (Entry Level) - This course is for anyone (boy or girl) who wants to be a referee for the first time. All participants must be 12 years old or older to become a referee.
  • Grade 8-9 (Re-Certification) - This course is for anyone (boy or girl) who was a referee last year and wants to continue refereeing this season. More information about this referee course will be coming soon for the 2014-15 season.
  • Bridge Course - This course is for youth referees who want to move from a Grade 9 (entry level) referee to a Grade 8 referee. More information about this referee course will be coming soon for the 2014-15 season.

    TYSA Director of Coaching

    Christian Dane comes to Tupelo Youth Soccer Association from Roanoke Star Soccer Club where he served as the Boys Director of Coaching. Prior to his tenure at Roanoke Star, Christian worked for Thunder Soccer Club, located directly south of Atlanta, GA. He served as Thunder’s Under 6 Academy of Excellence Director as well as head coach of several boys and girls teams ranging in ages U9 through U16. Christian was also the goalkeeper coach and assistant Boys Varsity Coach at Union Grove High School in McDonough, GA. Christian has coached teams in several high level tournaments such as the Virginia State Cup, Disney Junior Soccer Showcase, Publix Atlanta Cup and Georgia State Academy Cup. His teams finished first in the latter two tournaments. Christian holds the USSF National B License, USSF National Youth License, Coerver Coaching Youth Diploma and NSCAA Goalkeeping Level I and II diplomas. He intends to earn his USSF National A in the near future.

    Christian accepted a scholarship to play soccer at Georgia Southwestern State University, a NCAA Division II institution located in Americus, GA. He was a four year starter and was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar All-South Region Second Team. Christian was the first student-athlete at Georgia Southwestern to receive an all-region award at the NCAA level. He graduated in 2009 with a B.S. in Psychology and graduated in 2012 with a M.S. in Criminal Justice from Georgia State University.

    Christian has a strong passion for soccer and working with players. He is excited to serve as the Director of Coaching at TYSA/TFC United.
