The Tupelo Fire Department was founded in 1905, and is a career department that answer over 6,000 calls per year across 7 stations and 3 shifts. The almost 100 members of TFD, man the department’s 4 Engine Pumpers and 3 Quints Trucks 24 hour a day 365 days a year. Firefighters work a 24/48 hour shift which means they are at the station for 24 hours, and are off for 48 hours.

The Tupelo Fire Department is an all-hazard department, that not only responds to fire, but also wrecks, medical emergencies, missing persons, hazardous material spills, and technical rescues such as: Rope, confined space, trench, and swift water rescues. 

The Fire Chief is Brad Robinson.
